To fully enjoy the delights of Mont Saint-Michel Bay with complete peace of mind.
This outing is offered only during spring tides. After crossing the tidal flats (about 3 hours 30 minutes), you enjoy a short break at Mont-Saint-Michel.
With the guide, you’ll watch the wave as it moves up the rivers and channels like a cavalry charge. This wave, known as the “mascaret”—or “barre” in Normandy—surges up the river at the foot of Mont-Saint-Michel and signals the sea’s arrival. According to legend, it moves “at the speed of a galloping horse”.
You then return by shuttle and then by bus (1 hour 30 minutes), with your guide.
At the end of the day, you walk towards Mont-Saint-Michel one way and discover the bay at sunset. As the light fades, a sense of calm settles over the tidal flats…
A few guided stops let you enjoy the soothing feeling of the setting sun. The return is by shuttle and then by bus (1 hour 30 minutes).
See the dates of the next outing “the bay at sunset”.
*Mascaret: a long breaking wave that occurs when the river’s current is opposed by the incoming tide.
