During spring tides, they say the water rises at the speed of a galloping horse… come observe and listen to the rising tide to the rhythm of the tidal bore*.

Discovery

spring tides - 7 km

This outing is only offered during spring tides. After crossing the tidal flats (about 3.5 hours), you’ll enjoy a short break at Mont-Saint-Michel.
Accompanied by your guide, you’ll witness the spectacle of the wave advancing through the rivers and channels like a cavalry front. This wave, known as the “tidal bore” or the “barre” in Normandy, floods the river at the foot of Mont-Saint-Michel and signals the arrival of the sea. According to legend, it progresses “at the speed of a galloping horse.”
You then return by shuttle and then by bus (1 hour 30 minutes), with your guide.
