Tombelaine au soleil couchant

Discovery

spring tides - 7 km

This outing is offered only during spring tides. After crossing the tidal flats (about 3 hours 30 minutes), you enjoy a short break at Mont-Saint-Michel.
With the guide, you’ll watch the wave as it moves up the rivers and channels like a cavalry charge. This wave, known as the “mascaret”—or “barre” in Normandy—surges up the river at the foot of Mont-Saint-Michel and signals the sea’s arrival. According to legend, it moves “at the speed of a galloping horse”.
You then return by shuttle and then by bus (1 hour 30 minutes), with your guide.
